like those rosetta stone coursesIs there a good language tutorial for Gaelic/Irish?
The following site is nothing as sophisticated as the Rosetta courses, but I found it very useful for a beginner - and it's free!
http://www.erinsweb.com/gaelic1.html
For extra vocabulary there is
http://www.englishirishdictionary.com/ ,
which has the advantage that it gives you all the forms for the irregular verbs. It's also connected to a forum of translators to help with the difficult bits.
脕dh m贸r ort! (= Good luck to you)Is there a good language tutorial for Gaelic/Irish?
i know scottish lingo which differs from irish
The new edition of Teach Yourself Gaelic is good -- comes with tapes. The original edition (blue and yellow cover) was appalling. I know, I tried to use it many years ago. 'Tried' is the operative phrase.
Do you want Gaidhlig (Scots) or Gaeilge (Irish)?
There are tons of good materials available now, not like 20 years ago. Contact the ACGA (An Comunn Gaidhlig Ameireaga) for more information.

If you want to learn Irish, go to the free Philo-Celtic Society School at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/philo-celt鈥?/a> , and tell your friends! It's all on-line with sound files, volunteer teachers, a full and effective curriculum, and you will be most welcome.
Le gach dea-ghu铆 / Best, - Jerry
