Programming Languages Tutorials?

Any recommendations on which language to start with?





I know decent XHTML (planning on moving to XML sometime) and have started Python, but have not done much.





Also, any recommended sites/books that have decent tutorials?

It really depends on what you are looking to do. My normal recommendation to someone wanting to get into web design is to start with XHTML and CSS, then JavaScript, then PHP and MySql. If you master those, you will be able to develop most any sight that you want to develop. There are some excellent tutorials available at the site of W3C

Also, if you are interested in a particular language do a search for tutorials under that language. For example try this with Google.... ';Free online tutorials for PHP';


Also, I would recommend joining HTML forums at http://www.htmlforums.com/ It is a great forum with a lot of members all willing to help in whatever way they can.
